Perfect AI Prompts
Plus: Wayfair’s Muse & AI Chess
The numbers are staggering. Earlier this week, OpenAI closed a $40 billion funding round - the most money ever raised by a private tech company. The deal values OpenAI at $300 billion.
At the same time, ChatGPT reached a new milestone: 500 million weekly users, up 100 million in just one month.
Hard to believe the world’s most popular chatbot was launched less than two and a half years ago.
In this week's edition: Perfect your AI prompts with one click, discover Wayfair's Muse for inspired interiors, explore breakthroughs in Alzheimer's research, and check out a cleverly creative twist on chess.
Let’s get started!

AI Productivity
Getting useful answers from AI often depends on how you phrase your question. But let’s be honest—most of us don’t have time to perfect the art of prompting. That’s where Promptimize comes in. This Chrome extension fine-tunes your prompts in real time, across major platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. It helps deliver clearer, more relevant, and more actionable responses with just one click.
Here’s what Promptimize does:
Refines your input – Type your initial prompt as usual. Example: Scandinavian minimalist design.
Optimizes with one click – Hit the Enhance button for a polished version.
Customizes to your style – Adjust tone and structure to match your voice.
Saves your best prompts – Store and reuse them within your favorite AI tool.
The Promptimize website provides a real-world example: a basic request: “Write a blog post about healthy eating.”
A Promptimize-enhanced version: “Create an engaging blog post on healthy eating habits, focusing on [specific topic], balanced nutrition, meal planning, and lifestyle tips.”
The improved prompt continues in greater detail, outlining the request with clear sections, a call to action, and additional resource options—all leading to better AI-generated content.
Team member Justin tested it out. While casual prompts work fine for everyday chats, he found that for business tasks, Promptimize turned vague instructions into structured, actionable prompts that saved time and delivered better results. “The real-time suggestions were especially useful for breaking down complex topics and extracting more valuable insights from AI,” he said.
Promptimize offers a free plan with 10 prompt enhancements per day—plenty to test its impact on your workflow. If you’re using AI for work, better prompts = better results. This might just be the upgrade you didn’t know you needed.

AI Online Shopping
Wayfair is taking another swing at AI-powered home shopping with the launch of Muse, a generative AI tool designed to help customers find inspiration and more easily turn ideas into purchases. This follows the company’s earlier foray into AI with Decorify, which allowed shoppers to see preset design styles applied to their spaces. Muse builds on that concept with a more interactive, personalized search experience.
How it works:
Users enter a prompt, such as “cozy Scandinavian reading nook” or “modern industrial kitchen.”
Muse generates AI-powered images showcasing design ideas and product recommendations from Wayfair’s catalog.
Shoppers can click on items to buy immediately or save them to a collection for future purchases.
For a more personalized experience, users can upload a photo of their space to see how suggested styles would look in their home.
Wayfair’s bet on Muse reflects a broader shift toward AI-driven discovery in e-commerce. Unlike generic search tools, Muse functions more like a visual brainstorming partner, offering a Pinterest-like interface where shoppers can refine their aesthetic preferences and shop directly from AI-generated designs.
Muse is part of Wayfair’s ongoing effort to improve customer engagement. To encourage repeat purchases, the company recently launched a new loyalty program that centralizes benefits across its brands. AI-powered shopping tools are also becoming a competitive necessity, with major retailers like Amazon and Pinterest investing in generative AI to keep customers coming back for more.
By integrating AI-driven recommendations with its vast product catalog, Wayfair hopes to position itself as the go-to destination for home shoppers looking for both ideas and easy ways to bring them to life.

AI Medical Research
One of the most exciting areas where artificial intelligence is already having an impact is in developing new treatments for hard-to-cure diseases.
At the Oxford Drug Discovery Institute, scientists are using AI to sift through vast amounts of biomedical data—cutting the time it takes to identify potential Alzheimer’s drug targets from weeks to just days. This remarkable advancement was featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article, available to paid subscribers here.
Alzheimer’s is a complex disease, driven by a web of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Identifying which genes or proteins to target has long been a slow and uncertain process. But with AI in the mix, researchers can move faster and make more informed decisions.
Oxford scientists partnered with Graphwise to create a custom “knowledge graph”—a map-like database that shows how ideas, genes, and scientific publications are interconnected. They then applied AI to help navigate and analyze it. Here’s how the process worked:
Start with 54 genes from a large genetic study linked to the immune system.
Use AI to rapidly scan biomedical sources, including PubMed, journal articles, and proprietary data.
Visualize connections between proteins, genes, and potential drug mechanisms.
Trace citations back to original studies for faster validation.
As Oxford's Chief Scientific Officer Emma Mead put it, without AI tools to organize the overwhelming explosion of biomedical data, researchers would feel “a bit lost.” Tasks that took weeks—like deciding which genes to test in the lab—now take only days. Researchers are also uncovering patterns that could lead to better biomarkers and more targeted therapies.
In the race against a disease affecting millions worldwide, AI and human expertise may just be the perfect team.

AI Fun & Games
Who loves to play chess?
Google Labs has launched GenChess, an experimental web-based game that combines AI image generation with a classic strategy game. The project, powered by Google’s Gemini Imagen 3 model, lets users customize chess pieces using text prompts.
How it works:
Players log in with a Gmail account and describe a theme for their chess set—anything from sushi to space aliens.
The AI generates pieces in two styles: classic (traditional-looking) or creative (more abstract).
Users can tweak individual pieces by refining prompts until they get the desired look.
Once the set is finalized, players face off against an AI opponent, which also generates a themed chess set.
We thought we’d have a little fun with the ‘creative version’ of chess pieces inspired by “McDonalds”. When we clicked on ‘generate opponent’ we were delighted to see that we were up against “Burger King” for the game. It got a kick out of going head-to-head with these two natural competitors!
Google says GenChess is about more than play—it’s a demonstration of how AI can merge creativity with gaming. The project highlights how generative AI can be used for interactive design and personalization, making tools like Imagen 3 more accessible to a broader audience. Your move!
