Creative Pursuits

Ready to unleash your creativity? We’ve got a super simple way to tap your inner artist with Imagine with Meta AI. All you need is a Facebook account, an Instagram profile, or an email address, and you can explore this user-friendly tool at no cost.

Once you land on the page, describe the image you want the AI to conjure. We decided to give it a try with a little friendly competition. Our team member Justin, who openly admits to being creatively challenged, kicked things off with a straightforward prompt:

"Picture a man walking down a country road in a snowy landscape at sunset."

Then team member Lori, an avid doodler since childhood, jumped in with a more detailed prompt:

“A wooden boat POV (point-of-view) gliding down a southern river in the Mississippi Delta with Spanish moss overhanging in the style of a chalk painting.

Like what you see in the images above? Now it’s your turn to accept our challenge and experiment with your own creations. Try things like inserting the words photorealistic, wide angle, or any whimsical idea that strikes your fancy.

Please email us your best works of art and we’ll post some of them in an upcoming newsletter!

AI and Learning

Generative AI will also reshape education. Personalized learning modules, generated to suit individual learning styles and pace, will make education more effective and engaging. Popular digital learning companies such as Khan Academy and Coursera are using AI-driven personalization to help users find courses that align with their interests and career goals.

Here are other examples of tools and companies currently leading the way:

  • Carnegie Learning: Offers AI-driven math education, adapting to each student's unique responses and learning patterns for tailored instruction and practice.

  • Brainly: Matches learners on its peer-to-peer learning platform with the right peers for effective assistance in understanding concepts and solving problems.

  • ALEKS by McGraw-Hill: Evaluates student knowledge in subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, and accounting, and creates a personalized learning path tailored to their understanding and pace.

Language learning apps are revolutionizing the way languages are learned, moving away from traditional rote memorization to more interactive, engaging, and contextually rich experiences. The major players in the space, Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, and Babbel are already deploying AI algorithms to make the learning experience more engaging. Other tools and companies include:

  • Mondly: Offers immersive Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality-enhanced language practice with virtual characters for realistic conversations.

  • HelloTalk: Connects learners with global native speakers, using AI for practical, natural language conversation practice.

  • Busuu: Uses AI for personalized language learning feedback and conversational practice, blending native speaker interaction with AI exercises.
